15-Month Free Sugar Scheme for Poor Families

Rising global inflation has severely affected the middle class and made it increasingly difficult for low-income families to afford even basic food items. In a major relief move, the Delhi government has approved the distribution of free sugar to needy families for 15 months.

According to Indian media reports, the decision was taken during a Delhi cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The scheme aims to support poor and vulnerable households struggling with the rising cost of living.
