Data Collection Ordered by DEA Lahore

According to official sources, the District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore has directed zonal heads to compile data of government schools with concrete (lintel) rooftops within two days.

The collected data will help authorities assess which school rooftops are structurally suitable for potential use during Basant celebrations.

Rooftops May Be Rented for the Festival

Officials said that after reviewing the data, a decision will be made on renting out selected school rooftops for Basant activities. This move could generate additional revenue while ensuring controlled and safer celebrations.

Opportunity for Students as Well

The proposal also aims to provide school students with an opportunity to celebrate Basant in a supervised environment, promoting cultural engagement while maintaining safety standards.

Basant Returns After 20 Years

Lahore is set to witness the return of Basant after nearly 20 years, marking a significant cultural moment for the city. Authorities are working on various proposals to ensure the festival is celebrated in an organized and regulated manner.

While the plan is still under review, the initiative has sparked discussion among parents, educators, and cultural circles across the city.
