Punjab Government Releases Official Basant Anthem

The Government of Punjab has released the official Basant anthem titled #PhirAaiBasant, presenting the festival as an acknowledged cultural tradition under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The initiative reflects a broader cultural vision linked to Nawaz Sharif, focusing on preserving Punjab’s heritage and shared traditions.

Festival Within a Regulated Framework

Authorities say Basant celebrations are being observed under a structured and safety-focused framework this year. Several measures have been introduced to maintain public order and reduce risks.

Key Safety Rules Announced

  • Roof NOCs are mandatory for kite flying

  • Kites and string can only be sold through authorized dealers

  • Kite flying is prohibited near Allama Iqbal International Airport for aviation safety

  • Motorcycle riders must use safety wires

Free Public Transport for Three Days

To manage traffic and encourage safer commuting, the government has announced free public transport services on February 6, 7, and 8.

Cultural Celebration With Responsibility

Officials stated that the anthem symbolizes both celebration and responsibility, aiming to keep traditions alive while prioritizing safety and organization.
