The Punjab government has begun the distribution of ATM cards under the Ramadan Nigehban Package, a large-scale relief initiative aimed at supporting low-income families during the holy month.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed gratitude on the launch of the Nigehban ATM cards, stating that the system will ensure that financial assistance reaches deserving families in a respectful and convenient manner.

Under the program, approximately 4 million households will receive a total of Rs. 40 billion in financial assistance. The chief minister emphasized that the entire payment system has been designed as a fully digital and transparent mechanism, developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
She noted that strict monitoring will be maintained at every stage to prevent irregularities and ensure that beneficiaries face no unnecessary difficulties. Unlike previous systems, there will be no long queues or physical hardship, as funds will be accessible through ATM cards.
To assist the public, a dedicated helpline (08000-2345) has been established, while 160 special facilitation centers have been activated across all tehsils of Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz further announced that under the ration card program, the monthly financial support has been increased from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 10,000. Additionally, arrangements will be made daily for iftar meals for large numbers of fasting individuals.
She stated that the government’s mission is to ensure that no family feels neglected during Ramadan, adding that delivering the blessings of the holy month to every household remains a top priority.
