Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices have surged in Karachi, with consumers forced to pay higher-than-official rates.
While the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has set the LPG price at Rs 266 per kg, market reports indicate it is being sold at around Rs 300 per kg in various areas.
Price Difference
This means LPG is being sold Rs 34 per kg above the official rate, adding to household fuel expenses.
Public Reaction
Residents say they are left with no option but to buy LPG at inflated prices, as alternatives remain limited. Citizens have urged authorities to take action against profiteers.
Need for Enforcement
Market observers note that strict monitoring and enforcement are necessary to ensure LPG is sold at regulated prices.
